Sensitivity Reading
— SERVICES —
Your story deserves to get it right. I can help with that.
WHO I AM
A reader who has lived it
I'm an indie author, which means I understand exactly what it's like to pour yourself into a story and then stare down the terrifying question: did I get this right? I've been on your side of this process. I know what it costs, what it means, and what you actually need from a sensitivity read: not a verdict, but a guide.
My feedback is specific and actionable. I don't just flag what doesn't work, I tell you why, and I offer suggestions for how to fix it. I read with care and without judgment, because every author who seeks out a sensitivity reader is already doing the right thing.
I work across all genres and formats. I offer full manuscript reads and scoped partial reads focused on specific elements, with sliding scale rates to accommodate indie authors and small presses.
I am an author, not a therapist or academic authority. My sensitivity reads are grounded in lived experience, careful reading, and genuine care, not clinical credentials. If your project requires formal academic expertise in a specific field, I will tell you so honestly.
EXPERTISE
What I can read for
FAITH & DECONSTRUCTION
Ex-Mormonism & Mormon Culture
The theology, the culture, the leaving, and the particular flavor of grief and relief that follows. I know this from the inside.
NEURODIVERGENCE
Late-Diagnosed Autism & ADHD
The late diagnosis experience is distinct from early diagnosis. It's a lifetime of not knowing why, and then suddenly knowing. I can read for both.
MENTAL HEALTH
Depersonalization & Derealization
Dissociation is rarely portrayed accurately. I can tell you when it lands and when it doesn't.
FAITH & DECONSTRUCTION
Religious Deconstruction & Trauma
What it means to have faith weaponized against you. The long process of rebuilding something that doesn't hurt anymore.
NEURODIVERGENCE
Synesthesia
One of the most underserved and most frequently misrepresented experiences in fiction. I can tell you whether it rings true.
MENTAL HEALTH
C-PTSD & Abuse Survival
Complex trauma, recovery, and the nonlinear way healing actually works. The things that help and the things that harm without meaning to.
LIFE EXPERIENCE
Pregnancy & Child Loss
Grief that doesn't follow the expected shape. The way loss rewrites everything that comes after. I can read for authenticity and care in this space.
IDENTITY
LGBTQ+ Issues
Including AFAB nonbinary identity and gender dysphoria specifically. The experience of existing between or outside the expected.
MENTAL HEALTH
Bipolar II / Anxiety / Depression
The lived texture of these experiences. Not the clinical description, but what it actually feels like from the inside.
LIFE EXPERIENCE
Single Parenting
The logistics, the emotional weight, and the particular kind of love that comes with doing it alone.

Let’s talk about your book
Tell me about your project. Include your genre, word count, which categories you need read for, your timeline, and any content warnings I should know about. The more context you give me, the better I can help.
